Drought relief programme in the Office of the Prime Minister received N.dollars

The drought relief programme in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) received N.dollars 400 000 from Kalahari Holdings Limited and Tweyapo Fishing Investment yesterday.

Kalahari Holdings handed over N.dollars 300 000, while Tweyapo Fishing Investment donated N. dollars 100 000.

Handing over the donation on behalf of Kalahari Holdings, its Chairperson Martin Inkumbi said the company felt the need to help vulnerable community members who are affected by the drought through its social responsibility programme.

Receiving the donations, Prime Minister Kuugongelwa-Amadhila once again emphasised that drought relief assistance has to come from everyone to help those affected, and it is something that will help the country build resilience for future natural disasters.

She said the government is not only providing food to affected households but is also providing water for human consumption and animals as well as strengthening irrigation schemes to boost national food security and expand green schemes.
