Windhoek: The Five Season Group has officially handed over a new library valued at N$409,000 to Hompa Daniel Sitentu Mpasi Secondary School in Nkurenkuru, accommodating 218 learners from Grade 8 to 9.

According to Namibia Press Agency, school principal Ludwina Katura stated that the project emerged from the need to enhance reading and learning at the young school in the Kavango West Region. She emphasized that the school's enrollment is expected to grow as more grades are added, and highlighted the role of book donations from Promising Pages Namibia and ELCIN Nkurenkuru High School in supporting the school's educational mission.

Five Season Group CEO Andy Chen, whose company operates a brick factory in Nkurenkuru, reflected on the importance of a strong foundation in both construction and education. He stated that education serves as the foundation for children's futures and community progress. Chen described the library donation as an altruistic gesture aimed at giving back to the community, urging learners to utilize the facility fully.

Chief Education Officer for Planning and Development, Matheus Kudumo, accepted the facility on behalf of the Directorate of Education, emphasizing the library's role in fostering a culture of reading, knowledge acquisition, and language skills among learners. He noted the library's potential to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at the school.

Kavango West Regional Council chairperson and Nkurenkuru Constituency councillor Fillipus Tenga acknowledged the new building but stressed that it is only the beginning. He called on education authorities and partners to ensure the library is fully equipped with books, furniture, and a dedicated librarian to make it a functional and enduring educational resource.
