Windhoek: Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila has urged eligible voters to brave the long queues at polling stations so they can cast their votes as it is their democratic right. Kuugongelwa-Amadhila was one of the first people to cast their vote at the MTC building in Olympia, Windhoek in the early mornings of Wednesday.According to Namibia Press Agency, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila said she has exercised her right by choosing her representatives in the National Assembly and the presidency and she expects other citizens to do the same. "I encourage all eligible voters to choose their representatives as I have done. These are the rights that were earned through immense sacrifices, and we should not take them for granted. This is the only way we can participate in the governance of the country, and the only way we can hold leaders accountable when we cast our votes," the prime minister said.Over 1.4 million Namibians are voting in the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Wednesday.
