Rundu:A man died after collapsing in the Sauyemwa informal settlement on Sunday evening.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho of the Namibian Police Force reported that the incident took place around 18h00 near Kahonzo Filling Station. The deceased has been identified as Kambongi Mathias Hausiku, although his age is yet to be confirmed.

It is alleged that Hausiku left his home to relieve himself in a nearby bush but collapsed and died. His mother, concerned by his delay, went in search of him and discovered a group of people gathered around his lifeless body on a nearby road, identifying him as her son.

Family members indicated that Hausiku had been unwell prior to the incident. The authorities have informed the next of kin, and his body has been taken to the Rundu State Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
