Lightning Kills Two Children in Paktia Province

Gardez: Thunder and lightning claimed the lives of two children in eastern Afghanistan's Paktia province on Friday, provincial director for the Natural Disaster Management Authority, Mawlawi Nisar Ahmad Nejat, said Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the natural disaster occurred in Niazi village, located outside the provincial capital Gardez city, on Friday evening. The incident resulted in the immediate death of the two children. The official reported that Gardez and the surrounding areas have been experiencing heavy rains and flooding over the past couple of days.

This unfortunate event marks the second incident of its kind in the past three days. In a similar occurrence, a child lost their life in the Wardak province on Thursday.
