Man allegedly hangs himself at Ouhwaala village

A 54-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope at Ouhwaala village in the Omusati Region on Saturday.

This was indicated in the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s weekend crime report issues on Sunday, which said the incident occurred at the deceased’s residence at around 05h00.

In an unrelated incident, still in the Omusati Region, a 39-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder on Friday.

It is alleged that the suspect used a panga to cut another man on his left arm and caused serious injuries.

Meanwhile at Oshakati in the Oshana Region, a 54-year-old man accidentally shot himself after a shot went off his pistol that was in the holster.

He was rushed to the Oshakati State Hospital.

In another incident, a 37-year-old Chinese national also allegedly shot himself on the foot with his firearm, while he was doing inspection on a newly acquired firearm.

The incident happened at Ongwediva on Friday.
