Man Allegedly Stabs Girlfriend with Arrow in Oshikoto Region.

Oshikoto Region: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed with an arrow by her 40-year-old partner at Onampengu village in the Oshikoto Region on Thursday. According to the region’s crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo, the incident occurred around midnight. The woman is originally from Omahenge village in Angola and has been living with the suspect for three years.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Ekandjo stated that an argument broke out between the two shortly after they got home, and the man then allegedly took a self-made wooden arrow and stabbed the woman in her left buttock. The woman was taken to the Omuthiya State Hospital with the arrow stuck in her body, where it was removed by a doctor. She was discharged on the same day but sustained a serious injury.

Ekandjo further reported that the woman is allegedly in an abusive relationship. In May, her boyfriend allegedly assaulted her, resulting in a broken nose. In that incident, she was reportedly in hospital for a we
ek, and upon returning home, the suspect destroyed her police form. The suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
