Miss High School walks again

Namibia’s very own teen beauty pageant is back this year with promises to bring social unity amongst the youth. Organisers of the event, Price of Fame, Etienne B Photography, NEET Engineering and STI Décor have lined up great prizes for the winner including a scholarship for her tertiary education, a cash prize of N$1000 from Scooters Pizza, a smart phone, an HP laptop and a photo shoot valued at N$600.
The organisers of the pageant selected the top three contestants from Opawa Junior Secondary School, Tsumeb Secondary School, Etosha Secondary School and Otjikoto Secondary School to take part in the competition for the prestigious title of Miss High School Namibia. The idea to hold the pageant was conceptualised by Tjipuka and Gustav Mbeha (Logistics and Marketing), Syilvi Nhinda(VIP and Decor), Mauno Aambambi (Logistics and Marketing) and Ottilie Ambata (Models Manager). “After long discussions, we decided to start in Tsumeb to host the special event in a traditional way because Tsumeb is home to most of the committee members. We took the top three models per school who competed in their in-house school competitions in 2012. The schools gave us the models and the authority. During 2013, we approached the secondary schools in Tsumeb and started training the contestants. Miss Namibia 2012, Tsakana Nkhandih will crown the winner of the pageant” said Tjipuka.
