Finance Minister Iipumbu Shiimi tabled a comprehensive N.dollars 84.6 billion national budget for the 2023/24 financial year in the National Assembly yesterday.

The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture and the Ministry of Health and Social Services once again received the biggest chunk of the budget with N.dollars 16.7 billion and N.dollars 9.6 billion respectively.

Shiimi presented the national budget as well as the medium-term expenditure framework for the financial year 2023/24 to 2025/26 under the theme ‘Economic Revival and Caring for the Poor.’

“The budget I lay before you is as much about ensuring macroeconomic stability as it is about sustaining livelihoods and supporting economic recovery. It is both pro-sustainability, pro-growth and pro-poor,” he said.
