The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has cautioned members of the public to not fall victim to fraudsters attempting to solicit funds from them by impersonating Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila.

The OPM in a media statement on Wednesday warned the public against a message circulating on social media that the PM’s office is purportedly advising Namibians to join “Betty Davids investment.”

The message urges interested parties to invest 1 500 (no currency specified) which will supposedly generate 7 500 within three days.

“The Office of the Prime Minister hereby informs the public that the statements are false. The PM has not issued any statement urging the public to join the said scheme as alleged in the social media statement,” it said.
