Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has once again expressed his readiness for negotiations with Ukraine, speaking about the need to discuss the idea of stopping strikes on civilian targets, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday. On Monday, Putin said that the proposal to impose a moratorium on attacks on civilian infrastructure should be discussed bilaterally with Ukraine.
According to Namibia Press Agency, "President Putin has repeatedly stated his willingness to resolve issues through negotiations. And this is another repetition of this readiness," Peskov told reporters. There are no concrete plans for negotiations with Ukraine on a moratorium on attacks on the civilian infrastructure, the spokesman said.
"The president explained the complexity of this topic just yesterday, answering questions from journalists," Peskov explained. If Ukraine is willing and open to the idea of talks, then steps should be taken to legally clear the obstacles to negotiations with Russia, the spokesman added.
