The Roads Authority (RA) announced an increase in Domestic Road Transportation and Cross-Border Transportation permits, application and issuing fees on Friday.

In a statement issued by the RA Corporate Communications Manager, Hileni Fillemon, the increment will come into effect on 18 July 2022.

Fillemon said the permit fees have not been subjected to any increases since 1998 and 1977 respectively.

“The Ministry of Works and Transport determined the above mentioned fees in terms of the Road Traffic and Transport Act of 1999, as well as in terms of the Road Transportation Act of 1977,” she said.

The new fees are as follows; RA will charge N.dollars 200 for a new application, replacement of vehicle, transfer of public/private permit, amendment of public/private permit. Additionally, the authority resolved that public/private permit and charge will be N.dollars 150 for a temporary permit and a duplicate.

Under the Cross Border Carrier Permit, the RA will charge N.dollars 350 for a new application permit, N.dollars 250 to issue a duplicate permit and to renew a permit.

‘The Roads Authority will charge N.dollars 500 for 6 months, N.dollars 750 for 9 months and N.dollars 1000 for one year for goods,’ Fillemon said.
