Flamengo: Members of the community in Rosh Pinah have appealed to the government to station a social worker and a doctor at the town's State clinic. The clinic has been without a doctor or social worker based locally for an extended period.

According to Namibia Press Agency, a doctor and a social worker currently visit the clinic every week from Oranjemund. A leader in the community of Rosh Pinah's Tutungeni, Wilma April, mentioned that community members have informed her about the need to make appointments for consultations with these professionals. April pointed out issues requiring government intervention, including long waiting hours and a shortage of medication, at the clinic. "This town needs its own social worker. This town needs its own doctor," April stated.

A resident, Rebekka Kayuru, emphasized the urgency of the situation by explaining that people often wait for intervention until it becomes critical. Meanwhile, RoshKor Township Manager, Alexander Maasdorp, shared with Nampa that the organization is trying to relocate a social worker from Oranjemund to Rosh Pinah. RoshKor, a joint venture of the town's two mines, Skorpion Zinc and Rosh Pinah Zinc, is responsible for town management.

Maasdorp noted that the Ministry of Health and Social Services faces challenges in providing accommodation for its employees, and RoshKor is exploring housing options for the social worker with the assistance of the two mines. In light of Men's Mental Health Month, Maasdorp also encouraged men to seek support to alleviate the pressures they face.
