Speaking to Nampa on Monday, founder and main sponsor of the tournament Martinus Nawaseb said that overall attendance by spectators was low due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The tournament did not see as many spectators as usual because of the COVID-19 regulations that were put in place. However, we are happy with the teams that registered although they were only six. We will be raising the prize money next year, we have already started to approach sponsors for next year’s tournament,” he said.

The top goal scorer of the tournament, Xamiseb said: “I really needed the money and I trained hard as a striker to make my team and coach proud. It was not only about money but building trust with my team mates as well as coaches. I am sure that next year we will still be winners. My goal scoring techniques showed that I really trained hard for the tournament. ”
