Two children, adult male among six people who died in car accident between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo

OTJIWARONGO: Two children and an adult male, among six people who died in a car accident between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo on Sunday evening, have been identified.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Public Relations Officer, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha told Nampa yesterday that the three deceased persons were positively identified by their relatives.

They are four-year-old David Ekandjo Asino and one-year-old Selma Ndinelao Asino, as well as a 50-year-old Joseph Markus Quarum.

The accident occurred about 33 kilometers north of Okahandja.

Three other deceased persons are yet to be identified.

Mbeha said 10 other people who were travelling in the unidentified pick-up and SUV sustained serious injuries and were first taken to the Okahandja State Hospital.

Nine of them were later transferred to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital in the capital.
