Caracas: Venezuelan Communication and Information Minister Freddy Nanez on Sunday condemned as a "war crime" the U.S. attack on the South American nation earlier this month. At an international cultural event, Nanez emphasized the historical responsibility of the international cultural community in addressing the escalating violence and the erosion of international law.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Nanez argued that the stigmatization against Venezuela is driven by economic interests tied to its natural resources, rather than ideological reasons. He pointed to historical instances of external interference in other nations as a precedent. Since 2019, there has been an increase in hostility through sanctions, covert operations, and the illegal appropriation of Venezuelan assets, Nanez stated, while affirming that "Venezuela will not surrender."
Additionally, Nanez called upon poets, artists, and intellectuals globally to take on an ethical and active role in defending the self-determination of peoples.
