Youth Interrogate Various Issues

What makes a Namibian citizen? How can Namibian citizens, especially the youth, get involved in current issues? How does the Namibian youth see the socio-economic and political scene in Namibia? What is the Namibian youth’s take on the upcoming elections? These are some of the key questions that will be discussed at a panel discussion at the Warehouse Theatre tomorrow tonight themed Proud, Positive and Patriotic.

This is the first of future platforms aimed at engaging the Namibian youth on socio-economic and political issues. The discussion is a platform for ordinary citizens to engage on issues affecting them. All Namibian citizens, especially the youth are welcome to participate in the discussion.

The speakers are various youths such as entrepreneur Carl Pesat, author amp International University of Management (IUM) lecturer, Sylvia Schlettwein political science student Simon Taapopi public speaker Josy Nghipandua and Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID) Programme Coordinator, Patrick Sam.

The moderator of the discussion will be Rakkel Andreas, Project Assistant at the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF). The event includes music and comedic performances by Big Ben and Iileka from “Free Your Mind Comedy” (FYMC) respectively. The discussion is organised by the HSF in collaboration with two Namibian youth organisations, namely the Generation of African Intellectuals Trust (GAIT) and Free Your Mind Comedy (FYMC). The discussion starts from half-past five (17H30) to eight o’clock (20H00).
