A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Onasti village in the Oshana region by an unknown suspect on Friday, while on her way home from school.

A weekend crime report issued on Sunday by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) said the incident happened at about 14h00 when the girl was allegedly raped at knifepoint by the suspect who threatened to kill the victim, before forcibly having sexual intercourse with her, without her consent.

It is alleged that the suspect attacked the minor from behind, and held her eyes and mouth before dragging her into the bush where he tied her mouth with a cloth.

“The suspect is still at large,” it said.

The report also said that a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped on Thursday at Oshomukwiyu village, in the Endola constituency of the Ohangwena region at an unknown time.
