Five men have been arrested at Usakos on Sunday after they were allegedly found in possession of counterfeit money.

A crime report by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Monday indicated that one of the suspects was arrested at Big Brother Guesthouse with the alleged fake money during a police operation.

The fake money reportedly consisted of 33 N.dollars 200 notes amounting to N.dollars 30 600 as well as an unverified amount of blank US Dollar notes.

A sealed silver aluminium box was also found at the scene.

The five are expected to appear in the Usakos Magistrate’s court on Tuesday.

The police have cautioned business communities particularly taxi drivers and home shop owners to be on alert especially at night as these counterfeit notes are mostly used then.

Police investigations in the matter are ongoing.
