Windhoek: Ohorongo Cement has made a significant contribution to the health sector by donating medical equipment valued at N. dollars 3.3 million to the Ministry of Health and Social Services. This donation, which includes essential items such as infant incubators, electrical beds, and doctor electrical launchers, aims to enhance medical facilities across the nation.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Chief Executive Officer of Ohorongo Cement, Hans-Wilhelm Schte, highlighted the importance of the donation during the official handover ceremony in Windhoek. Schte stated that the primary goal is to improve healthcare facilities and safeguard the lives of newborns.
The Acting Deputy Executive Director of the Ministry, Johannes Gaeseb, emphasized that the contribution is more than just an asset transfer; it is a critical investment in the nation's health and future. Gaeseb also noted that the equipment addresses several crucial gaps in the current healthcare service delivery.
Gaeseb further remarked that the donation strengthens the ministry's ability to offer quality healthcare, turning their facilities into symbols of hope and healing. He concluded by encouraging healthcare workers to utilize and maintain the equipment with the utmost professional care.
