Windhoek: Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) has recorded an increase in revenue of 14.4 percent to N.dollars 3.7 billion for the 2025 financial year. This was announced by MTC Managing Director Licky Erastus when he presented the company’s financial results for the 2025 financial year here Monday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Erastus reported a 4.3 percent growth in the prepaid subscriber base, with prepaid Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) rising by 14.6 percent due to higher data consumption. Roaming revenue saw a 2.5 percent increase, supported by business travel linked to oil and gas activities and a rebound in tourism. Strong demand for smart devices pushed handset and accessories revenue up by 16 percent.
Erastus highlighted the company’s progress in its strategy of diversifying into enterprise ICT markets, including IoT and fixed connectivity, to achieve its strategic growth target. New revenue now constitutes approximately 4.5 percent of total revenue.
MTC deployed 1,672 kilometers of fiber during 2025, bringing the total fiber rollout to 4,472 kilometers, extending services to Windhoek and coastal towns. Fiber expansion will continue in 2026 to support growing demand in the energy and tourism sectors.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization grew by 3.3 percent, with the margin improving from 45.9 to 49.1 percent due to higher revenue and reduced operating costs. Capital expenditure for the year was approved at N.dollars 706 million, compared to N.dollars 893 million in 2024.
MTC enters the new financial year with a focused strategy aimed at broadband growth and exploring new opportunities in cloud, cybersecurity, data centers, and international business. The company declared a final ordinary dividend of N.dollars 467.1 million (62.28 cents per share), payable on 06 February 2026.
