Nkurenkuru Residents Eagerly Participate in Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

Nkurenkuru: Residents of Nkurenkuru queued up as early as 05h00 on Wednesday to take part in the Presidential and National Assembly Elections. Large number of voters could be spotted at the Nkurenkuru Community Hall and at the Nkurenkuru Combined School, where Kavango West Governor Sirkka Ausiku was also expected to cast her vote.According to Namibia Press Agency, Kalume Ndeshipanda, 32, was the first person to cast her vote at Nkurenkuru Combined School. "I came here around past 05h00 this morning," Ndeshipanda said. She mentioned that it is her first time voting since she was hospitalised during previous elections. Despite not feeling well, Ndeshipanda was determined to vote this year.Meanwhile, 78-year-old Erna Sikongo expressed her readiness to vote, arriving at the polling station at 06h00. Priscilla Mugomba, another voter, stated her reason for voting was to have her voice heard. "I also want to bring about change because in the end there will be no point in me saying the government is not doing any thing if I did not vote," said the 28-year-old Mugomba.The Kavango West Region prepared 175 polling stations to accommodate 47,200 eligible voters expected to cast their votes on Wednesday.
