Edo: The 2025 Batch 'A' Stream 1 corps members transformed the permanent orientation camp in Okada, Edo, into a vibrant celebration of Nigeria's cultural richness through a cultural carnival float. The event highlighted the nation's diverse ethnic heritage through traditional costumes, dances, and symbolic representations from various ethnic groups.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the carnival emphasized unity in diversity as corps members participated in inter-platoon cultural heritage displays. Dr Frances Ben-Ushie, State Coordinator of NYSC, praised the corps members and camp officials for their enthusiastic involvement and encouraged them to respect the customs and traditions of their host communities throughout their service year. She remarked, "The NYSC cultural carnival is not just about entertainment; it's about learning, embracing one another, and promoting unity. This float is a reminder of the strength we derive from our diversity."
