Islamabad: Pakistani military forces successfully targeted and destroyed an Indian S-400 air defense system located in Adampur, Jalandhar district of India's Punjab state, during an airstrike carried out on Saturday, as confirmed by the Pakistani military's statement.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the strike was executed using hypersonic missiles launched from the JF-17 platform. The operation utilized precision-guided munitions to neutralize the advanced air defense asset, as detailed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the communications wing of the Pakistani army.

The S-400 system, which had an estimated value of around 1.5 billion U.S. dollars, was among India's most sophisticated surface-to-air missile systems, according to the statement. Military analysts informed Xinhua that the successful targeting of the S-400 may significantly impact India's aerial defense posture in the region.

The strike is a component of Pakistan's large-scale military operation "Bunyanun Marsoos," translated as concrete structure, initiated in response to ongoing Indian provocations. This operation aims to target multiple high-value military installations across India, as per the ISPR.
