Moscow: Progress MS-30 spacecraft has expanded the orbit of the International Space Station (ISS) due to a threat of collision with space debris, Russian state space corporation Roscosmos said.
According to Namibia Press Agency, TsNIIMash, a space industry company, reported that at 1:10 a.m. Moscow time (22:10 Wednesday GMT), the engines of Progress MS-30 were activated. They operated for 212.79 seconds, providing an impetus of 0.3 meters per second (0.98 feet per second). This maneuver expanded the ISS orbit by approximately 540 meters (1,771 feet).
Following this adjustment, the time of the ISS's rotation will be 92.89 minutes, according to the statement from Roscosmos on Telegram.
