Moscow: Russia is not currently conducting substantive negotiations on possible gas supplies to European countries, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Thursday. Peskov clarified that while there is a potential for discussions, no active negotiations are underway.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Peskov emphasized that the situation is primarily a commercial matter involving a gas seller and potential buyers. He highlighted that if European buyers express interest and the transit routes are operational, the seller would be open to discussions. He assured that Russia is neither denying nor rejecting the possibility of future negotiations if conditions are favorable.
This statement comes amid ongoing discussions about energy supplies in Europe, where countries are exploring various options to secure their energy needs. Russia, being a major gas supplier, remains a key player in potential future negotiations, contingent upon interest and infrastructure readiness.
