Toddler drowns in water bucket at Epalala

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) recorded a death of a toddler at at Epalala village in Ohangwena Region on Saturday, after she allegedly drowned in a bucket of water.

According to a report issued by NamPol’s spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi on Sunday, the nearly two-year-old Victoria Sevelen drown in a bucket of water after she was allegedly left in the care of a 5-year-old by her grandmother, who had gone to chase away goats from the house.

“The grandmother returned swiftly after she heard the 5-year-old crying out for help and found the baby’s body in a bucket full of water,” Shikwambi said.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informed of her death.
