Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s crime investigations coordinator in the region, Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu, told Nampa on Monday that the woman, who has been identified as Theresia Ndominga, left her house on 02 January 2023 around 09h00 to go bath at the river.

According to Kanyetu, Ndominga never came back and her decomposed body was discovered on Friday at 14h00.

Her body was transported to the Andara Catholic Hospital and her next of kin have been informed of her death.

In an unrelated incident, a 47-year-old man survived a crocodile attack on 04 January 2023 at the Sarasungu area in Rundu along the Kavango River.

The man, who sustained a deep wound on his right thigh, is alleged to have gone fishing with his brother when the incident happened.
