Beijing: The fourth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee is set to take place in Beijing this October, following a decision made at a recent meeting of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the session's main agenda includes the Political Bureau reporting its activities to the CPC Central Committee and studying proposals for the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development. Xi Jinping, the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting on Wednesday.
The discussions at the meeting also focused on analyzing the current economic landscape and strategizing economic work for the second half of the year. It was emphasized that the period of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) represents a significant phase for strengthening the foundation and making comprehensive efforts towards achieving socialist modernization.
China is currently navigating profound and intricate changes, as it faces simultaneous strategic opportunities, risks, and challenges, with uncertainties and unforeseen factors increasing. Despite these challenges, the country's economy remains stable, with a robust foundation, multiple advantages, strong resilience, and substantial potential. The meeting highlighted that the conditions and trends supporting long-term economic development remain unchanged. The distinctive strengths of socialism with Chinese characteristics, coupled with China's vast market, comprehensive industrial system, and rich talent pool, are becoming increasingly evident.
