Moscow: The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it lodged a strong protest with Japanese Ambassador Akiro Muto in Moscow on Wednesday. This protest comes in response to Japan's plans to use profits from frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed its disapproval of Japan's intentions to redirect income from what it terms "illegally frozen Russian state assets" to provide loans as part of the G7's financial assistance package to Ukraine. The ministry's statement indicated that Japan's actions would equate to complicity in the actions of the Kiev regime.

The ministry further emphasized that such a move would result in serious consequences. It warned that Tokyo's actions constitute complicity in the alleged crimes of the Kiev regime and will inevitably trigger harsh retaliatory measures. These could include asymmetric responses targeting Japan's most sensitive areas. The ministry asserted that any further deterioration of bilateral relations would be the responsibility of the Japanese government.
