Windhoek: Rands Merchant Bank (RMB) Namibia has been named the world's best sub-custodian bank for 2026 by Global Finance, recognising the institution's performance in asset servicing and custody solutions.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the award forms part of Global Finance's 24th annual Best Sub-Custodian Bank Awards, which evaluate financial institutions across 83 countries and territories based on client service, operational excellence, technology, post-settlement capabilities, and local market expertise.
RMB Namibia, in a media statement on Tuesday, said the recognition reflects its continued commitment to providing custody services to institutional investors in an increasingly complex and highly regulated financial environment.
RMB Namibia Chief Executive Officer Daniel Motinga emphasized that the award reflects the strength of the bank's people, systems, and commitment to delivering reliable services. "This recognition is a proud moment for RMB Namibia and reflects the strength of our people, our systems, and our commitment to excellence in everything we do," he said.
Motinga added that the global recognition reinforces the bank's ambition to strengthen its custody services and remain a trusted partner to institutional investors operating in increasingly complex global markets. The award also highlights the growing importance of sub-custodian banks as investors seek greater global diversification amid increasing regulatory requirements, he said.
