Two male suspects aged 28 and 42 were arrested Monday night at Okahandja’s Oshetu township after they were reportedly found in possession of 17 stolen solar panels.

Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha, in an interview with Nampa on Wednesday said the solar panels worth N.dollars 153 000 were removed from the roof of the Okahandja shopping complex at an unknown time on Monday.

“It is, however, still unknown to us on how they transported the solar panels from town to the house of the 28-year-old suspect at Oshetu, where we recovered the panels,” said Mbeha.

The two suspects were charged with theft and are expected to appear in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court during this week.

Police investigations into the matter continue.
