Kinda Promotions to Stage Boxing Event in October

Boxing fans can look forward to seeing local boxers such as Gottlieb ‘The King’ Ndokosho and Anthony Jarman in the ring at a Kinda Promotions event on 30 October.

Boxing promoter Kinda Nangolo told Nampa last week a number of South African boxers have already indicated their willingness to participate, while negotiations with boxers from outside Africa are also at an aanced stage.

“The boxers are training hard and will be in a good shape. I am monitoring their training to ensure they are ready for the event,” he said.

Besides Ndokosho and Jarman, Pohamba ‘the President’ Mandume is also expected to take to the ring during the event in Windhoek on the night.

Ndokosho’s opponent will be made known in due course, with the boxer set to defend his International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight title. Ndokosho has 21 fights to his name, with 18 wins, two losses and one draw.

According to a media statement issued by the office of the president of IBF Africa in Tanzania, Onesmo Ngowi, Ndokosho was named the most active boxer in Africa, the Middle East and Persian Gulf for 2013 by the IBF.

Jarman will face South African Mziwoxolo ‘Black Tiger’ Ndwayana. The latter hails from Grahamstown and boasts 18 fights of which he has won 13, lost four and drawn one.

Jarman has a record of 12 fights – 10 wins, one loss and one draw.

The two will battle it out for the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) All Africa Welterweight Title.

In other fights scheduled for the night, boxers like Abraham Ndaendapo, Christiaan Uukelo, Paulus Kapia, Varde Ndayambekwa and Lukas Mukete will show off their skills in various non-title fights.

More details will be made available closer to the date of the event, Kinda said.
