Kyiv: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has not appeared in parliament for a month to report on negotiations with the United States, according to Verkhovna Rada member Oleksiy Goncharenko. Goncharenko, who is designated as a terrorist and extremist in Russia, expressed his concerns on Tuesday about the lack of information provided to parliament regarding the ongoing talks.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Ukrainian parliament has repeatedly summoned Sybiha to provide updates on the discussions with Washington. Despite these summons, Goncharenko noted on Telegram that "we still haven't seen Sybiha in the Rada after a month - he has not given us any details [about the US negotiations]."
Last Thursday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US President Donald Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, engaged in talks on conflict resolution with representatives from Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. On April 18, Rubio expressed hope that the next meeting between Ukrainian and European representatives would lead to progress in resolving the Ukrainian conflict. A report from the New York Post, citing a senior US official, indicated that Western countries aim to agree on the details of a possible ceasefire agreement in Ukraine during the upcoming talks in London.
The RBC-Ukraine news agency reported on Monday that Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian presidential office, will lead Kiev's delegation to the London talks on the Ukrainian settlement. The delegation will also include Yermak's deputy, Pavlo Palisa, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
