Chief Bobo’s spouse among the three deceased in Tsumkwe accident

Spouse of the Ju/'hoansi San Traditional Authority leader, Chief Bobo Tsamkxao #Oma is amongst the three people who died instantly Tuesday morning in an accident on the Tsumkwe-Grootfontein gravel road.

Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha on Wednesday told Nampa in an interview that the deceased people have been identified as the 70-year-old /Ui //Uce, the spouse of chief Bobo, 54-year-old Sonja Canto, a South African national who was driving the vehicle, and the 79-year-old Ciqae Ncauka.

Mbeha said the accident which claimed their lives occurred at about 08h30 on Tuesday morning, some four kilometres west of Rooidag Gate in the Tsumkwe Constituency.

Mbeha said a total of five people including the driver were in the vehicle which was travelling from Tsumkwe to Windhoek.

About four kilometres west of Rooidag Gate, their station wagon overturned three times, and instantly killing the driver and her two passengers, Mbeha said.

Two other occupants survived the accident with slight injuries and were treated at the Grootfontein State Hospital.

Preliminary police investigations indicate the driver lost control over the vehicle on the gravel road.

Police investigations continue.
