Cycling federation assists De Lange for world champs

WINDHOEK: Promising young Namibian cyclist, Tristan de Lange on Monday here received financial assistance of N.dollars 20 000 from the Namibian Cycling Federation (NCF).

The sponsorship will be used for his participation in the Mountain Bike (MTB) World Championships, scheduled to take place in Vallnord, Andorra from 31 August to 6 September 2015

In a statement availed to Nampa on Tuesday by the NCF it stated that the contribution would be used towards his travel and accommodation expenses for this event.

Tristan, who is the reigning National and African Junior champion, and also holds the fourth place on the world junior rankings, will be accompanied by Aiden de Lange as Team Manager, and Mannie Heymans as mechanic.

The statement also quotes Rolf Adrian, Vice President of the NCF, saying the Federation is proud to invest in the future of the promising young cyclists.

Tristan received a second chance to take part, after he got injured during the World Championships last year in Norway,’ said Adrian.
