HageGeingob visits two resettlement farms

President HageGeingob on Friday morning visited two resettlement farms in the Otjiwarongo Constituency of the Otjozondjupa Region to assess and obtain first hand information on the drought situation in the region.

Geingob made the visits to Farm Ohambo situated about five kilometres outside Kalkfeld and Nevada north of Otjiwarongo, as part of his one-day town hall meeting with residents of the region held at Otjiwarongo.

The Head of State was accompanied by several cabinet ministers, deputy ministers and the Otjozondjupa Regional Governor Otto Ipinge to the two farms.

There, farmers pleaded with him to assist in any way with the supply of animal fodder and rehabilitate their boreholes which they claimed are drying out.

The devastated farmers informed Geingob and his delegation that they have lost half of their livestock due to no grazing and insufficient water.
