Man run over at Kahenge village

A 26 - year-old man sustained serious injuries at Kahenge village in the Kavango West region after he was bumped by a mini bus after jumping from a moving vehicle on Sunday afternoon.

According to a police report availed to the media on Monday, the 26 �year-old man was allegedly bumped by a mini bus after he allegedly jumped out of the vehicle.

The report says the Namibian Police opened a case of reckless and negligent driving and investigation into the matter continues.

In a separate incident, a nine year-old girl was bumped at Nzinze village in the same region after she attempted to cross the B10 Nkurenkuru- Rundu road on Friday.

It is alleged that the minor was hit by the car at around 07h00, when she allegedly tried to cross the road, sustaining injuries in the process.

Police investigations continue.

Furthermore, in a separate incident, a three year-old toddler was found dead in a water pond at Eengwena village in the Ohangwena region on Friday at around 19h25.

His next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.

In a similar incident, a 22-year-old man hanged himself on Sunday at Epembe village in the same region.

According to the report, it is alleged that the deceased was found hanging from a tree branch with four shoe laces around his neck.

The report says the deceased did not leave any suicide note and his next kin were informed.

In a different incident, a 41-year-old man hanged himself on Saturday at Ondjungulume village in the Omusati region.

The incident happened around 07h00.

According to the report, the man allegedly hanged himself with a wire on a tree in his own mahangu field.

No foul play is suspected and his next of kin has been informed.
