NFA denounces sponsorship agents

The FIFA Normalization Committee for the Namibia Football Association (NFA) refutes and condemns individuals who are hibernating as sponsorship seekers for the Association with regard to the 2019 CAF African Cup of Nations preparations.

The flagship team of the NFA, the Tafel Lager Brave Warriors will be jetting out for a training camp soon ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations tournament.

This afternoon the Normalization Committee quelled all rumours about the teams' preparations.

It has come to our attention that people are going around asking for money on behalf of the NFA for the teams' preparations and we would like to set the record straight that as the Normalization Committee, we have not sent any group or person. We denounce their action and call on whoever is approached with this kind of ideas to immediately alert us, says Chairperson of the Committee Hilda Basson- Namundjebo.

The committee have alerted the relevant authorities such as Nampol and the Anti Corruption Commission.

The Committee adds that it is their responsibility to ensure that funds are available for the team's camp and together with Ministry of Sports, discussions are at advance stage.

" Therefore, there Is no need to panic and we are confident of the Brave Warriors preparation schedules. Our team will be ready to compete when the 32nd African nations Cup takes off in Egypt from 21 June", Basson-Namundjebo says.

The Brave Warriors are in Group D at the 32nd AFCON Finals to be hosted by Egypt and will play Morocco on June 23 before taking on South Africa on June 28, both at Al Salam Stadium. They will play the final group game against Ivory Coast on 1 July at Cairo International Stadium.
