Northern regions face water supply rationing

The Namibian Water Corporation (NamWater), has announced there will be water supply rationing in northern Namibia due to technical and mechanical breakdown at its Oshakati water treatment plant.

Making the announcement in a statement issued on Friday, the company's Chief Business Unit North Water Supply, Dr Kaliki Kambanda said the water supply rationing will take place as from Saturday (today) to Friday.

According to Kambanda, the rationing times are 08h00-10h00, 14h00-16h00 and 22h00-04h00. This affects also the main northern towns of Ongwediva, Oshakati and Ondangwa.

Should there be critical needs at essential services' centres such as hospitals, clinics and institutions' dormitories, the authorities and responsible officers and managers are encouraged to contact NamWater Area Managers for Cuvelai East and West, reads Kambanda's statement.

She named Martin Kapia (0811221676), Stephanus Mukuya (0811225183) and Gabriel Shililifa (0811492947) as the managers to be contacted.
