San community receive 175 cattle which were distributed amongst 52 individual members

CORRIDOR-13: The San community in Aminuis under the !Xoo Traditional Authority on Thursday received 175 cattle which were distributed amongst 52 individual members.

The cattle were donated as part of the Namibia-German Special Initiative Program (NGSIP)’s support to vulnerable and formerly marginalized communities.

The cattle will be used by the San as one of the means towards the upliftment of their standard of living.

The cattle were initially donated to the !Xoo Traditional Authority in 2013, but could not be allocated to individual members and were as such kept on a commercial farm in the Aminuis Constituency due to drought at the time.

Officiating at the handing over here, Minister of Presidential Affairs Frans Kapofi said the donation of the cattle spells out Government’s commitment towards the development of previously marginalized communities.

He used the opportunity to thank the German government for making the donation possible through the NGSIP.

Kapofi called on the private sector to join Government in alleviating poverty through development initiates for the nation.
