Three officials who handled the match between soccer clubs Tura Magic and Blue Boys in February this year have been suspended

WINDHOEK: Three officials who handled the match between soccer clubs Tura Magic and Blue Boys in February this year have been suspended for a month.

A media statement issued by the Namibia Football Association (NFA) yesterday said Dankie Shinana, Andreas Helmut and Alex Kapenaina were suspended for a month following an ‘indiscretion’ during the MTC Premiership match between these two teams on 22 February.

During the match, the officials allowed Blue Boys to make a fourth substitution after their goalkeeper Gernot Spath was injured. This was after that team had already used up their mandatory three substitutes.

Tura Magic won the encounter that day by one goal to nil.

The NFA’s Referees’ Manager, Edwardt Boy-Boy Ndjadila was quoted in the statement as saying that the trio’s suspension took effect on 24 February, and will end on 24 March.
