Twelve arrested for wildlife crimes over one week

A total of 12 suspects were arrested by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) for wildlife related crimes and while eight wildlife products were seized from 23 to 29 September 2019.

According to a wildlife crime statistics report issued by the Protected Resources Division of NamPol on Monday, the wildlife products seized include six pangolin skin, a pangolin skin and a giraffe.

It also indicated that two suspects were arrested for rhino poaching/trafficking cases including cases of conspiracy of rhino poaching.

The report notes that among the arrests, one firearm and one vehicle were seized.
